Next week, we will start researching our Living Wax individuals. We are encouraging students to bring books on their assigned individual to school to help them research this week. If you have any books at home or access to a library, please feel free to send them to school inside of backpacks. We will be providing internet resources here at school. We are still missing several “Wish List”, so if your student has not been assigned an individual please help them get this submitted as soon as possible. Research notebooks will be given out on Monday, November 5 and will be due for a progress check on Monday, November 12 for a progress check.
Next week, we will focus on identifying the theme of a passage or text and will wrap up our study of fiction genres. Students will have a genres quiz on Thursday, November 8. Please use the attached study guide and your notebook to help you prepare for the quiz. We will also be going over and reviewing passage skills and strategies. We will take our district curriculum assessment on Friday, November 9. Please encourage your students to take their time, check everything twice, and to use their strategies on this assessment.
For homework, we will have our “Consonant Doubling When Adding an Ending” list due on November 9.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
